Hi Everyone,

Hope you've all been well and avoiding all the nasty bugs going around and especially this dreadful 'Swine flu'.

Well I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted, mind you the past month has been totally taken up and used every single minute so can't feel too bad.

Building a house:

hmm so much to do, think about etc when building a house - and it hasn't even started yet.
Finally the letter we've been waiting for has arrived from the Bank so it's all go now. We've just finished two weeks school holidays and spent most of that travelling to Adelaide choosing Tiles, colours etc and designing and choosing colours for our new kitchen. Doesn't sound much but travelling over 100km to get there, then have to spend 3 hours choosing heaps of things all at once (with the not so helpful Colour Consultant - who's colour chooses come from the butt I think...lol).

Anyway all that is done now. We are looking into changing the septic tank they want us to have as this one the pump runs 24 hours a day and we think that's quite ridiculous and can imagine how much power it's using - the idea with the new house is to cut down power consumption not add to it.

This past week we've had three birthday's in the family - Tilly turned 15 and has her new coffee machine to practice making her cappacino's for her job. She's also undertaking a Barista course in a few weeks so hopefully this will improve the confidence even more. She's working in the kitchen this week at Mocha and really loves being in there making food.

Addie has turned 11 (my baby - OMG when did that happen) and has taken to surfing like a fish to water - he has a new surfboard which has been given a hammering lately but hey rather him doing that than sitting in front of the box every day.

And lucky me I've added another year on too....hehe. Addie and I are both Anzac babes so have an extra special birthday each year when we thank those who bravely fought for our lovely Country to allow us to enjoy what we do now.

My lovely husband Mr Bug, has booked us into the Hilton Hotel for dinner and the night and is taking me to Phantom of the Opera on 9 May then breaky at the Hilton on Mother's Day morning. I'm so excited about going away for the weekend together - has been many years since we've been away alone together (bet we'll both look at each other and say OMG too quiet - quick bring the children back.....lol). Most people wouldn't agree but when you are always surrounded by chatter and noise - it's really weird to have peace and quiet. Plus we really enjoy being with our children and them with us.

So poor children didn't really get to do much in the holidays except Nogry and Skatie did let loose in Rundle Mall in the big city of Adelaide for the first time ever by themselves. They had a good time but were very happy to return to our little Country town......lol. Country Bumpkins at heart.

Our house plans should be going to Council shortly for the big tick - then we receive another large bill $$$$$ - tis never ending but thanks to lots of good habits and reducing debt it doesn't worry me anymore like it used to.

We are busy working on paying off a Credit Card, still a bit to go but each fortnight it goes down a bit more - looking forward to the Tax return in July so we can wipe the rest out and chop it up - happily living with a Visa Debit Card these days.

So next question - hmmm what's for tea tonight - last night had a lovely spinach and cheese filo pie and some home made pizzas. Hmmmm thinking caps on - might do a vegetable stir fry tonight I think - a big plate of vegies sounds nice on a very cold night.

Oh yes the other most important thing we did in past two weeks - bought a lovely 22,000 litre rainwater tank, after much ado and the guy pulling a swifty and sending a dented one, swapped it over and spent the whole day in the rain (yes it actually did rain here - has been a long time between drinks...lol) and we sawed and glued and installed all the pipes then stood with ears to the tank listening to that delightful sound of raindrops dripping into the tank - we have now had about 5 days of rain and collected about 2,000 litres of rainwater - absolute bliss.

First day back at work today - have completed all tasks needed so no idea what I'll do tomorrow but well worry about that then.

The vegie garden - wow does that look fabulous with the rain. Been picking spinach, zuchinni's capsicum, chilli's (some of them are little bum burners I tell you - HOT is not the word), herbs, rhubarb (made the most scrummy crumble a couple of nights ago).

Only another 45 minutes at work then I'm freeeeeeeee.

Hope everyone's having a fantastic day

From out the back amongst the weeds......(well actually my office desk but much rather be amongst the weeds....lol)

Millie xx

Oh Millie, I so envy you your garden. I had to leave mine behind when I moved and ex has let everything die. Am broken hearted.

Oh Faye, that's terrible. Since the rain (yes that wet stuff...lol) the vegies are all standing to attention - just beautiful.
